Contentment Cottage Blog CHILDREN’STORIES
“A children’s story that can only be enjoyed by children is not a good children’s story in the slightest.”
_C.S. Lewis
An anthropomorphic autobiography. Now there’s a mouthful for you. But, after you’ve read the story you’ll understand a bit more about the author, the sparrow, and perhaps, even yourself. Of course Psalm 84 also provided me with the inspiration to pen this little piece.
It is also the reason I share the posts at Contentment Cottage with you all.

If you want your kids to be smart, read fairy tales to them. If you want them to be smarter, read them more fairy tales.
Albert Einstein
This little story speaks to a small rebellion that turns into a rather frightening adventure for Bootsey, her young cousin Bobbie Jo, and their two brave protectors, Isaac and Wendell.
The story has a moral, but it’s up to the reader to find and explain it. Not to worry though, all’s well that ends well.

Now that I am old and gray,
_Psalm 71:18-19
do not abandon me, O God.
Let me proclaim your power to this new generation,
your mighty miracles to all whoC come after me.
Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the highest heavens.
You have done such wonderful things.

And one day her heart opened up

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
_Hebrews 4:12
Don’t Settle – for Anything Less Than God’s Best
A while back, as I wrote in my personal journal and prayed an interesting idea sprang up—re-writing notes from a Seminar I’ve shared for years when speaking to groups of Christian women— fleshing the teaching out for an e-Book. From that inspiration comes this offering.
When I finally committed to writing it, the greatest desire of my heart (my goal, if you will) was to share what real LOVE [the Love of Christ] has done in my life. And what His Love can do in your life, if you will take God at his Word. The result–this admonishment– “Don’t settle for anything less than God’s Best for YOU.”

The Week That Changed The World
A personal Bible Study I wrote a few years ago during Holy Week.
Finding Jesus in this powerful study changed my life and my personal views on many Biblical traditions. My prayer is that it will shed some light on a few truths for you too.

Lee Langston is a prophet. Lee sees things others can’t. Lee knows things others don’t. And, her spiritual discernment is on overload as she approaches the Church she has been attending in the small mountain community near her farm. Prominent church members offer her the left foot of fellowship, deeming what she sees, knows and suggests as inappropriate behavior for a so-called Christian.
Thus begins the battle to build a Community Church and bring God’s grace into an area where religion dominates and the truth is overshadowed by tradition.
Deadly Design is a Ben Merrill mystery, that’s been languishing on my hard drive for several years because it is “secular” fiction. It is not “Christian” fiction. It is not “motivational” fiction. It’s fun fiction…because I love to write almost as much as I love to read…and following Special Agent Ben Merrill through his crazy adventures is fun for me.
There are enough twists and turns in this romantic mystery to keep the reader turning pages long into the night.
Bet you can’t put it down.
