Jesus now called the Twelve and gave them authority and power to deal with all the demons and cure diseases. He commissioned them to preach the news of God’s kingdom and heal the sick. He said, “Don’t load yourselves up with equipment. Keep it simple; you are the equipment. And no luxury inns—get a modest place and be content there until you leave. If you’re not welcomed, leave town. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and move on.”
Commissioned, they left. They traveled from town to town telling the latest news of God, the Message, and curing people everywhere they went.
Luke 9:4-6 The Message (MSG)

If you’re not welcomed, leave town. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and move on…
We’re movin’ Lord.
In church this morning we heard a powerful sermon on “The Principals of Light and Darkness.”
The bullet points:
- Light Always Conquers Darkness.
Stop cursing the darkness in your life. Invite God’s Light into the situation. Light is always released by proclaiming God’s Word. When you read God’s Word you are taking light IN. When you speak God’s Word you are releasing LIGHT. Light is released when you open your mouth and speak the Word. “But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” 1 Peter 2:9 The Message (MSG)
Movin’ on from darkness to light! Light must be proclaimed before darkness flees. - Darkness conceals. Light reveals! God’s Word is all the revelation needed. The Word guides us daily, step by step, through every situation.
By your words I can see where I’m going;
they throw a beam of light on my dark path.
I’ve committed myself and I’ll never turn back
from living by your righteous order.
Everything’s falling apart on me, God;
put me together again with your Word.
Festoon me with your finest sayings, God;
teach me your holy rules.
My life is as close as my own hands,
but I don’t forget what you have revealed.
The wicked do their best to throw me off track,
but I don’t swerve an inch from your course.
I inherited your book on living; it’s mine forever—
what a gift! And how happy it makes me!
I concentrate on doing exactly what you say—
I always have and always will.
(Psalm 119:105 MSG) - Shine until the darkness is defeated. Shine, fully committed to walk through life doing exactly what God’s Word says. SHINE. Now is the time!
Shrug your shoulders and move on, saying “I know that light conquers darkness.”
I know what I know. We don’t need approval from anyone except God – our Abba Father, Jesus – our redeemer, Savior and God’s Holy Spirit – our comforter, Counselor, and friend.
On Friday I got a notion to Google “pastor wanted.” One of the first things to come up was an ad for a Senior Pastor in a small (about 50 families) non-denominational church in the San Jose area of California. We sent a resume Friday afternoon. Saturday morning we got an acknowledgement that our data was received, saying we would be notified when the Board has reviewed applicants.
Yes, we are moving on! And we are praying for God’s LIGHT on our steps as we go.

What a powefull message …in all things….
