May day in our garden
May first has been a beautiful day. Early this afternoon I couldn’t resist taking the camera to the garden to capture and share some of my joy with you all. The herbs are filling out fast.
The lavender is producing nectar for both bees and butterflies. But it’s ready to harvest—so I tried to take only the most mature stems for drying—leaving some for them too.
The Guava is fully in bloom—which means the Jays and Mocking Birds are at war over the sweet petals. The Star Jasmine is a solid wall around the small patio. I just wish you could smell it. Heavenly! The terragon and chives are flowering…and so on and on… it goes.
Reminds me of the verses we read in Romans yesterday…
1:19-20 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Still lovely out there…goin’ back to the garden now.
