healing promises

healing power

Once again God has directed my attention to the subject of divine healing.

Any time the subject comes up, questions fly thick and fast.

“Do you believe in healing?”

Yes! I have experienced God’s healing power in my own life and seen it in the lives of numerous others.

“Do you believe God still heals today?”

Absolutely! I have experienced God’s healing power in my own life…and “Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever.” Hebrews 13:8

“Isn’t God using this sickness or disease to discipline me?”

Absolutely NOT! Common sense demands a careful examination of the facts, Why, oh why, would the Creator of the universe send his one and only, Beloved Son to The Cross as a sacrifice for all of your iniquities and All of your Diseases, then use sickness or disease to teach you a lesson?

Have you read the 103rd Psalm?

Bless the Lord, O my soul;
and all that is within me, bless his holy name!
 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits,
 who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
 who redeems your life from the Pit,
    who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
 who satisfies you with good as long as you live
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Could He be any more specific?

“Why doesn’t every one receive healing?

Perhaps part of the answer can be found in Apostle Paul’s letter to the church in Galatia :

My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness. For there is a root of sinful self-interest in us that is at odds with a free spirit, just as the free spirit is incompatible with selfishness. These two ways of life are antithetical, so that you cannot live at times one way and at times another way according to how you feel on any given day. Why don’t you choose to be led by the Spirit and so escape the erratic compulsions of a law-dominated existence?

It is obvious what kind of life develops out of trying to get your own way all the time: repetitive, loveless, cheap sex; a stinking accumulation of mental and emotional garbage; frenzied and joyless grabs for happiness; trinket gods; magic-show religion; paranoid loneliness; cutthroat competition; all-consuming-yet-never-satisfied wants; a brutal temper; an impotence to love or be loved; divided homes and divided lives; small-minded and lopsided pursuits; the vicious habit of depersonalizing everyone into a rival; uncontrolled and uncontrollable addictions; ugly parodies of community. I could go on.

This isn’t the first time I have warned you, you know. If you use your freedom this way, you will not inherit God’s kingdom. Galatians 5:18-21 The Message (MSG)

The writer of Hebrews warns:

without faith it is impossible to please him. For whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6

What can I do to receive my healing?

Believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him, then ask him to heal you. Seek him in the Word (He sent forth the Word and healed them.) Ask every day for wisdom and favor, and begin to thank him for what he is doing in your situation.

If you are harboring resentments—LET IT GO. If you are burdened down with unforgiveness—FORGIVE and move on. If you have a rebellious attitude about something you know is displeasing to God—GET OVER IT. Make an effort to live a positive life…QUIT lying, gossiping, complaining, judging, and criticizing.

Are you telling me I have to be perfect before God will heal me?

NO!

But, I am telling you that taking some positive steps away from bitterness and anger couldn’t hurt.

Read about the healing power of Jesus in the Gospels. He never once said, “Get it together and then come back and see me.”  Jesus healed them ALL. It didn’t matter who they were, where they came from, what they had done – or were doing. He healed them ALL. It didn’t matter to him that some walked away without so much as a backward glance or a ‘thank you’ – he healed them all. He didn’t demand a guarantee that they would follow him from then on…if they needed Him, he healed them.

Jesus will do the same for you, for me, for anyone who believes that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

What I am telling you is this:

The healing power of the cross is available for you today. I know this because I experience it in my own life any time I need it. Jesus IS Lord over every sickness and every disease.

Bible

Assurance of God’s Protection
Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,
who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,
2 will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence;
4 he will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand;
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge,
the Most High your habitation,
10 no evil shall befall you,
no scourge come near your tent.
11 For he will give his angels charge of you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder,
the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.

14 Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
and show him my salvation.

Amen.

    1. Dearest Patsy…yours is perhaps the most difficult question any Believer can ask this side of Heaven. No answer seems sufficiently appropriate. The only thing I am certain of is that Jesus, the personification of mercy and grace has paid the price for your salvation in full. God has said:”My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9

      When you gave your life to Christ, were spiritually born again, you did all the dying you’ll ever have to do. Your spirit eternally belongs to God from that moment forward. Our “earth suits” wear out. They succumb to the rigors of surviving here. Our mind, will, and emotions (our soul) cries out to the Father for a medical miracle, but sometimes it does not come. Then we must rest in the knowledge that when we close our eyes here for the last time, we open them there, with Him…perfectly whole, completely free of all the pain and suffering traveling through this life demands.

      I believe that is the reason Paul wrote to the Philippians:

      This is in keeping with my own eager desire and persistent expectation and hope, that I shall not disgrace myself nor be put to shame in anything; but that with the utmost freedom of speech and unfailing courage, now as always heretofore, Christ (the Messiah) will be magnified and get glory and praise in this body of mine and be boldly exalted in my person, whether through (by) life or through (by) death.
      For me to live is Christ [His life in me], and to die is gain [the gain of the glory of eternity].
      If, however, it is to be life in the flesh and I am to live on here, that means fruitful service for me; so I can say nothing as to my personal preference [I cannot choose], Philippians 1:20-22 Amplified Bible (AMP)

      This is not an easy answer, but in the end Christ is the ONLY answer.
      All my love, e
