peace on Christmas

O come, O come, Immanuel!  __Matthew 1:23 (NKJV)

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.” __Matthew 1:23

Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. Curds and honey He shall eat, that He may know to refuse the evil and choose the good. __Isaiah 7:13-15 (NKJV)

As the count-down to Christmas winds swiftly toward the 25th, I want to remember three things.

That little baby, Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
was in the beginning, before His birth,
God of Gods and Lord of Lords.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. __John 1:1-5

That little baby, Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace,
was born to save ALL of mankind.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. __John 3:16-17(RSV)

That little baby, Jesus Christ, is the Alpha and the Omega.
The beginning and the end.
And, HE holds the keys to my abundant eternal life.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand upon me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last,  and the living one; I died, and behold I am alive for evermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades. __Revelation 1:8-18

As the hours before Christmas fly by, filled with holiday festivities, I pray you will also pause and consider these three truths concerning your life IN Him.
