The essence of optimism is that it takes no account, but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy.
_ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
We all have moments of fear and anxiety. Both are really forms of unnecessary suffering. So, let’s imagine you are planning a picnic for the weekend. The forecast is a 45% chance of showers. Immediately you begin to worry that your special day will be ruined. May I remind you:
more picnics are ruined by worry
than are ever spoiled by rain?
Instead of worrying about tomorrow, why not learn to be happy NOW? Not someday when the children are grown or the job is done, but right now– right this minute.
Here are three steps to real – right-now – happiness.
- Accept yourself, where you are, right now.
- Accept others, for who they are, right now.
- Accept your circumstances as part of God’s plan for today.
There is great spiritual power in this formula. It releases perfect peace into life.
Try it and be
Happy NOW!
Matthew 6.24-34
My business is not to remake myself.
_Robert Browing
But make the absolute best of
what God made.

“No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.” _Helen Keller
