Give God’s Word First Place In YOUR Heart

The Psalmist David wrote, “Open my eyes to see the miracle-wonders hidden in your word.”

_Psalm 119:18 TPT

The Apostle John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.” Jesus Christ is the living Word of God….In him was life and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.” _ John 1:1-4

Jesus said, “… “If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” _ John 8:31-32

I once met a very wise woman who said, “Where does your mind go in the quiet moments? That will show you who holds first place in your heart.”

Think about that!

It is impossible for us to live the Word, apply the Word, or pray the Word if we do not first read the Word. And our capacity to apply the word effectively will be equal to our willingness to wait long enough, staying in the Word to allow the Holy Spirit to enlighten our minds in its promises.

So, I urge you, start today to take God’s Word and make it a primary part of your life and your praying. You might pray as David prayed in Psalm 119:34 “Give me understanding that I may keep your Word, and observe it with my whole heart.”
