On this 4th of July eve I am reminded of a lifetime of celebrations. There have been picnics and parties, camping trips with friends, silent solitary times and fireworks. I can recall celebrations in the Colorado mountains, on the Pacific Coast, and on a houseboat moored on the Lake of the Ozarks. Some were so much fun. Some were so not fun. Sometimes the sun blazed down on the celebration. And, sometimes the rain poured down. But this much experience has taught me: “More picnics, parties and camping trips are spoiled by worry than are ever spoiled by rain!”
So…go! Have fun! Enjoy every opportunity for celebration. But, remember: “If it rains…dance in the puddles.”
