Today I’ve set another 2021 goal: Begin to be the curator of our life. Slowly cut out things until all that’s left are things that we LOVE, things that are NECESSARY, and things that make us HAPPY!

It seems to me there is real beauty in simplicity and as I grow older I’ve come to understand that the real price of anything is the amount of your life you exchange for it. Thoreau once said, “There must be more to life than having everything.” To me that translates to abandoning the stuff we don’t need. So, I’ve determined to begin living as simply as can be.

Why now?

Because it is astonishing how uncomplicated and HAPPY life becomes when you begin keeping everything as simple as possible.

And, because lately I’ve learned that you do not need to know precisely what is happening or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and embrace them with courage, faith and hope. So…what if, instead of thinking about solving your whole life, you just begin adding good thing, one at a time, letting your accumulation of things that you love, are necessary and make you happy grow…keeping it simple?

Simplicity means not allowing the chaos of the world to settle within your soul {your mind, your will and your emotions}. True miracles happen everyday, even if the news doesn’t show it. The goal is to choose peace and light despite the wars and darkness that exist around us. The goal is to embrace and appropriate what’s good for you. The first step to getting what you want is to have the courage to get rid of what you don’t want.
