His passion is to remain true to the Word of “I AM,” meditating day and night on the true revelation of light.
Psalm 1:2 [TPT]
Are you in the Light?
by Barry Bennett
I asked my wife why one of her flowering plants in our bedroom was larger than the same plant in the kitchen. They were both from the same seed packet and both had the same dirt, water and care. Her answer was a “revelation” to me. “More light!” The upstairs plant was getting more light than the one in the kitchen. The other variables were the same, but light was making a difference!
Why do some Christians seem to grow and prosper while others seem to lag behind and never get ahead? More light!
You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
1 Thessalonians 5:5
We all have the same incorruptible seed of God’s grace, the same Bible, and the same 24 hours in a day. But some are walking in more light than others.
Light is Life. The more we dwell in the light, the more we receive of His life. Consider the following verses:
You shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life.
Philippians 2:15-16
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Ps. 119:105)
Psalm 119:130
The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.
As I meditated on these verses I imagined a transfer of God’s light and life into our very beings as we hold fast to the Word. Not only does the Word give us light, it makes us light! It is when we let go of the Word and drift back into the world that the darkness returns.
Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness.
Luke 11:34
When His Word is our focus and passion we are full of light and life. The Word is His light. We are born from darkness into Light by the incorruptible seed of the Word. We are to be children of the Word. We are to live by every Word that proceeds from His mouth (Mt. 4:4). That is the Light that the darkness cannot overcome!
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
Ephesians 5:8
