Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

I recently was reminiscing and wishing I could relive certain parts of my life with the wisdom I have today. What would it have been like to go to high school with the accumulated wisdom of 48 years in the Lord? As I moved through the years in my mind I could identify certain events in which I wished I knew then what I know now. I’m sure most of you feel the same. How many negative situations could we have avoided if we had just been wiser?
Wisdom can be defined as knowledge of what is true or right, coupled with an accurate judgment as to action, discernment, or insight.
Obviously there is a wisdom that comes with time and experience, but there is another kind of wisdom that is spiritual in nature.
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.
1 Corinthians 2:7
The hidden wisdom of God is spiritually discerned. It is the capacity to see into the world of the Spirit, understand the ways of God and respond with insight and faith. This wisdom is a mystery to many.
But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Cor. 2:14)
1 Corinthians 2:7
How can we tap into the wisdom of God? First we must understand that His wisdom is already in us.
“But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom.”
1 Corinthians 1:30
Getting that wisdom from our spirits to our heads is the challenge. Here are some keys:
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Psalm 111:10
When we honor and reverence God above all else, we are positioning ourselves for His wisdom to be revealed to us.
For the Lord gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:6
Wisdom comes from the Word of God. The more our minds are renewed to His Word, the more we will walk in His wisdom.
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that give to all men liberally, and upbraids not; and it shall be given him.
James 1:5
Simply believing God to impart wisdom to you is another way to receive. God desires that we have His wisdom in order to live successfully.
Seek the Lord about wisdom. You don’t have to wait 40 years. The Spirit of God can make you wise now!
He that gets wisdom loves his own soul: he that keeps understanding shall find good.
