As Christians, we love to quote Dr. Luke.

Nothing is impossible for God!

Luke 1:37 CEV

The real question today — do we truly believe? Or are we like the distraught father with a demon possessed son who cried out to Jesus for help? The Lord told him, “All things are possible to him who believes.” Right then and there the father realized his faith and the faith of Jesus’ disciples wasn’t as strong as he’d thought.

“I believe. Help my unbelief!”

Mark 9:14-29

Sometimes, when a crisis comes or the report is BAD, our first reaction is not faith. Worry and fear often come before faith. We tend to follow the “what if” of unbelief down the path of least resistance long before our faith catches up to the circumstances.

BUT…From Genesis to ‘maps’ the Bible tells us, “Nothing is impossible for God.”

Ask yourself, “do I believe in Jesus?” If your answer is yes, take a moment to read Dr. Luke’s account of the conversation Mary had with the angel God sent to tell her of His plan.

26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And he came to her and said, “Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you!”[c] 29 But she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered in her mind what sort of greeting this might be. 30 And the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High;
and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his father David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob for ever;
and of his kingdom there will be no end.” 34 And Mary said to the angel, “How shall this be, since I have no husband?” 35 And the angel said to her,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
and the power of the Most High will overshadow you;
therefore the child to be born will be called holy,
the Son of God. 36 And behold, your kinswoman Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 38 And Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:26-38 RSV

Did you see it?

For with God nothing will be impossible

So…today, be encouraged to accept, as Mary did, that God is who He says He is. Choose to believe that God can do what He says He can do. Choose to rely on God’s Word in every situation, every crisis, and all circumstances for truly… NOTHING is impossible with our God.

so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:11
