Grace and peace on this Wonderful Wednesday Dear Hearts ❤️ Today IS a day that the Lord has made. “Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”

Rejoice can be found 240 times in the Word,
41 times in the Psalms and 11 in Proverbs

My study this morning landed in Philippians. It started with a search for “the Lord is at hand” after I read the news declaring victory for the liberal left in California and was told of a wildfire threatening the small mountain community where Mr. L taught for the last two decades of his career. My search brought me here:

Rejoice in the Lord always;
again I will say, Rejoice.
 Let all men know your forbearance.
The Lord is at hand.

Philippians 4:4-5

I’ve spent the last hour scrolling through my follow-up search for the word REJOICE.

In Proverbs I found God’s Word on my political concerns and thought to myself, “yeah, millions are groaning in California this morning.”

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.

Proverbs 29:2

But, right there in the next reference I found this: REJOICE!

An evil man is ensnared in his transgression, but a righteous man (or woman) sings and rejoices.

Proverbs 29:6

The references go on and on, and on . . .

The Lord IS at hand — and His directions for me — REJOICE! Don’t groan and grumble and rehearse the bad news. REJOICE!

My prayer for all of us today, take a few minutes to meditate on God’s command to rejoice — despite all that is negative in our world. He is God. He is GOOD! This is a day He had made — REJOICE!
