Don’t Look Back – You’re Not Going That Way

Do you feel you’ve missed God and missed any possibility of the abundant life? In spite of your failures, God has a purpose for your life. We may all lose time for one reason or another, but we never lose our God given purpose.

For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Romans 11:29

God’s call upon your life remains unchanging. He is always ready to continue on with you when you choose to walk with Him. God’s purpose for our lives is to bless us and have us bless others. That grace is available to you right now, regardless of the past.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11

You are unique and special in the Kingdom of God. You are a valuable member of the Body of Christ. There are giftings in you that are needed by others. God’s heart is to give you an expected end. In other words, God already sees your course as completed, in spite of your mistakes or failures along the way. He isn’t looking at the times you may have failed. He is seeing the end from the beginning. You need to see beyond the past as well if you are going to enjoy God’s purpose for your life.

….but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Philippians 3:13

In spite of Paul’s past of spreading terror against Christians, he chose to forget the past and see God’s future for his life. You cannot live in the past and touch the future! God’s purpose for you hasn’t changed. The grace of God draws you to receive His love and walk in His purpose.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 8:28

Walking in your purpose guarantees that God will cause the circumstances of your life to align for your good, not your destruction. Don’t look back. Look to God’s grace for your future.
