farewell ’22 – welcome ’23

You’ll be built solid, grounded in righteousness, far from any trouble—nothing to fear! far from terror—it won’t even come close! If anyone attacks you, don’t for a moment suppose that I sent them, And if any should attack, nothing will come of it. I create the blacksmith who fires up his forge and makes a weapon designed to kill. I also create the destroyer— but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged. Any accuser who takes you to court will be dismissed as a liar. This is what God’s servants can expect. I’ll see to it that everything works out for the best.” God’s Decree.

Isaiah 54:17 MSG

Be encouraged dear hearts. Yes, the past three years have been unorthodox to say the least. We are all indeed living in a society steeped in darkness and unrest. Here at the Cottage, 2022 was a doozy! I’m not going to give you a list of all the “opportunities” we’ve had to ask, “why, what, when, where, how, etc. etc.” nor the number of times we’ve prayed, “Lord we believe. Help our unbelief.” Instead I’m going to take this evening to remind you of God’s promise to his children recorded in the words of Isaiah.

I encourage you to read those words prayerfully at some point during the last hours of this year. Let them soak deeply into your soul. Bury them in your memory and bring them to mind when the attacks come in the new year (and they will).

Honestly, after all that presented itself to us since March of 2020, I can confidently assure you – God WILL see to it that everything works out of the best and no weapon that is formed to harm you will be allowed to succeed.

I pray for a HAPPY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR for all of you. And, I want to Thank Each Of You for your love and support. You mean the world to me. Truly you do.
