Ivy, its curling tendrils embracing all within its reach, has come to symbolize fidelity, loyalty and undying affection. In many ways this faithful vine enriches our lives.

“Whole ages have fled and their works decayed. And nations have scattered been;
Charles Dickens in the Pickwick Paper
But the stout old ivy shall never fade,
From its hale and hearty green.”
So linked is ivy with good fortune that to this day brides lace it through their wedding bouquets.

One of my favorite pastimes is doodling “Thank You” notes and other greeting card illustrations using the traditional ivy hearts you see here. These doodles have been online for years.
It’s been my pleasure to provide several website designers and bloggers with sets of IVY graphics over the years. Oh, I know. Styles have changed. All the BEST and most popular blogs are white on white, spare and sans decoration, but there are still enough “ivy” users out there in cyberspace that the hearts stay for now. It’s still one of my favorite art pages.
