“Life is like a bicycle to keep your balance you must keep moving”
_Albert Einstein
Hello 2014, How welcome you are!
A new year. A blank page.
2013 went out with a cough and a sniffle for me. Not at all what was planned, but for the past several years that’s been the story of my life. “the best laid plans….” etc.
Mostly living life based on Jesus’ words in Matthew 6 is my goal. My old Living Bible translates it this way:
“So don’t worry at all about having enough food and clothing. Why be like the heathen? For they take pride in all these things and are deeply concerned about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to. “So don’t be anxious about tomorrow. God will take care of your tomorrow too. Live one day at a time.“
Matthew 6:25-33
Learning to follow His advice has been somewhat bumpy for me. I keep making Big Plans, setting up The Perfect Scenario… and my plans keep getting scuttled!
In 2014 I have decided to really practice what I preach and “Live one day at a time.” No big plans. No setting up perfect scenarios. No “I thought surely….” And no looking back at the scuttled stuff either.
This year when I printed out my blank calendar pages I removed everything else from my journal. Now it’s impossible to turn to a new month and review what happened last year or the year before.
“One day at a time.”
I’ll let you know how that goes.
