Open the door to the future and step on in.

Spending time in my studio, writing, drawing and motivating me, is my “happy place.”

Why motivate yourself, you may ask. Because during the madness currently going on in the world it becomes imperative to keep my thoughts moving in a positive direction. For me that means focusing on inspirational words and beautiful images. The most positive words are “alive, active, and sharper than a two-edged sword.” For that reason my studio journal is mostly focused on God’s Word.

This week my pages illustrate the love and protection God’s Word promises me during the madness.

“But I promise you, no weapon meant to harm you will succeed. _Isaiah 54.17a

Safe and Secure

God’s Word promises we are safe and secure–even in the midst of the madness:

When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai,
you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.
He’s the hope that holds me and the Stronghold to shelter me,
the only God for me, and my great confidence.
He will rescue me from every hidden trap of the enemy,
and he will protect me from false accusation
and any deadly curse.

Psalm 91 The Passion Translation (TPT)
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High,
    who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,
 will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress;
    my God, in whom I trust.” _Psalm 91.1-2 RSV
If you make the LORD your shelter,
no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
Psalm 91.9-10 NLT

Fear Nothing

His huge outstretched arms protect you—
under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.

Even though others succumb all around,
 drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.

Yes, because God’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
harm can’t get through the door.

He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

Psalm 91.3-13 MSG

So…I’ll share these pages with you, hopefully as reassurance, and perhaps as inspiration for your own “happy place” or motivation to take your own thoughts captive; crowding out the negatives and the fear. God the Father, Jesus the Savior and His Holy Spirit, your comforter, counselor and friend goes ahead of you to make a way where there seems to be no way.

Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 New Living Translation (NLT)
