The Wisdom of God is What You Seek! – Part 1
If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 2.4-5
30 But it is from Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God
[revealing His plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to God], and sanctification [making us holy and setting us apart for God], and redemption [providing our ransom from the penalty for sin], _1 Corinthians 1:30 Amplified Bible (AMP)
How do the wise become wise? Did you know that the wisdom of God lives in you? The ability to use knowledge for your good is part of your born again spirit. How can you activate it?
My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
Yes, if you cry out for discernment, And lift up your voice for understanding,
If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures;
Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding;
He stores up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to those who walk uprightly;
He guards the paths of justice,And preserves the way of His saints.
Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path. (Prov. 2:1-9)
Look at the verbs: receive, treasure, incline, apply, cry out, lift up, seek and search. Those words describe a heart fully given to unlock the wisdom of God.
God’s wisdom is a treasure.
King Solomon is known as the richest man the world has ever known, yet riches were not his request when he ascended to the throne of his father David’s. (1 Kings 3 & 4)
29 And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding beyond measure, and largeness of mind like the sand on the seashore, 30 so that Solomon’s wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.
1 kings 4.29-30
God’s wisdom is available to you, as it was to King Solomon.
It is in you! Don’t leave it untapped.
For the LORD gives wisdom;
From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; (Prov. 2:6)
Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom:
and with all thy getting get understanding. (Prov. 4:7)
God isn’t withholding wisdom. It is for the serious seeker.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally and without criticism, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, without wavering.”
James 1:5-6
