…asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understand to live a life worthy of the Lord and fully pleasing to him Col. 1:9 Better than Gym Time “strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power”
Colossians 1:11
As Paul prays for the Colossian believers, his desire is that they be ‘strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power.’ If we look at some of these words in the Greek, it really is amazing what Paul was really praying for. ‘Strengthened’ means to make strong and confirm. The Greek word is ‘dunamoo.’ ‘Might’ is the word ‘dunamis’ and means many things: strength, power, ability, miracle power, moral power, excellence of soul, the influence of wealth, resources from numbers, the power by virtue of something’s nature. Literally Paul says, ‘dunamoo with all dunamis!’ ‘Power’ is the Greek word ‘kratos.’ It means force, strength, power, might, mighty with great power, and, dominion. So Paul is praying for the Colossian believers to be made strong and confirmed in miracle and moral power, excellence of soul, etc., according to His glorious force, strength, power and dominion!
I wonder, do we fully grasped all that God has made available to us? I doubt it. If we did, would there be room for depression, fear, guilt and inferiority?
No! I don’t believe there would be space in our soul for so many of the world’s negatives.
If we choose to believe that every resource of heaven is available to us by His grace, there will never be a need to shrink from victory in any circumstance. Put Jesus in the Center …All things were created through Him and for Him. _Colossians 1:16
God’s Word tells us that all things were created through Christ and for Him. And if all things were created for Him, it must means that JESUS is at the center of it all! As believers, it only makes sense for us to make Jesus central in every area of our lives. When we do this, we’ll find life becoming less and less of a struggle.

With Jesus at the center, life becomes richer, with a deep sense of purpose, and is easier because we are flowing with Him. When Jesus is at the center of any situation, those circumstances cannot help but thrive and be filled with His life. So pray for your family, health, job, finances, ministry and church community in the same way Paul prayed, and expect to see His purposes, His anointing, His good success and His life infuse these areas for His glory!
With Jesus—You Have Everything!
…you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. _Colossians 2:10
When God gave us Jesus, He gave us not just His best, but everything else as well. We are truly rich because we have Christ. He is our all in all. Jesus is our wisdom, our righteousness, our sanctification, our redemption and our success. In Him are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Always remember, when you need wisdom, Christ is your wisdom. When you need righteousness, Christ is your righteousness. When you need sanctification and redemption, Christ is both to you. When you need faith, He is your faith. When you are fearful of the odds against you, He is your favor. When you are weak, He is your strength. When you are troubled and anxious, He is your peace. When you feel vulnerable, He is your shield. When you are lonely, He is your faithful companion. And when you are sick, He is your healing and health. Jesus, the great I AM says to you, “I AM to you whatever you need Me to be!”
In Christ, you are truly rich because His Spirit is in you. And in Christ you are complete. Don’t wait until you experience this or that before you feel complete. You are already complete in Christ. He IS your all in all! Perfect Sacrifice, Perfect Forgiveness
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses.
Colossians 2:13
God’s grace can propel you forward in every area, of life even if you’re not the most qualified or experienced. But how can you be sure that you have God’s unmerited favor if you are not even sure if God has forgiven you of all your sins? God wants you to know that your sins are forgiven not according to the riches of your good works, but according to the riches of God’s grace (unmerited favor). All your sins—past, present and future—have been forgiven.
Colossians 2:13 states clearly that we have been forgiven of all our sins. The high priests of the old covenant had to offer sacrifices for sins daily. But Jesus, our perfect new covenant High Priest, offered the complete, perfect sacrifice “once for all when He offered up Himself” (Hebrews 7:27). We have been forgiven once and for all! So…the moment you know that your sin debt has been completely cleared and settled by Jesus on your behalf, you can expect to experience God’s unmerited favor every moment of every day. Thank Him for it every day and begin to walk in His promises in every area of your life!
This is such a wonderfully encouraging and thoroughly engaging post, Ellen! Thank you for it! Char
