It snowed in the night! Well…not snow SNOW. The pears are dropping their blossoms. Everything is covered with petals. After growing up in the Colorado mountains, I can tell you without question – I’ll take my snow this way!!!
It’s been another interesting week here at the cottage….a very busy week…but interesting. The blog re-design keeps me hopping on the computer front. And life’s little necessities – food, clothing, cleaning, etc. take up a large chunk of time, too.
Several things have changed. Others (the ones I want to change) seem to stay the same. The life lessons just keep coming, making me increasingly aware of the changing seasons… the changing spiritual seasons that is. Spring is here, the garden is proof of its arrival, but D and I are both very much aware of a shift in the spiritual as well. We once again seem to be moving into a new season in our life.
I think I told you before, we’ve been sending out applications to small churches across the U.S. for a little over two years, looking for a place to ‘pastor’. From what we’re getting back, our application is just one of hundreds, or perhaps thousands, each church is receiving! So far we haven’t received the call.
During this time the life lessons have been coming thick and faster than ever before and we’re not novices at this life lesson game either. This past week we sent one more applications, to a smallish community in Arkansas. We continue to hope and pray for the call to go back to work in God’s service full time. We know God’s doing something toward this end…we just don’t know what – yet. I’ll keep you posted.
On a totally different note – I have to mention the change in readership of this blog since I took the step to be up front about who we are and what we stand for! I knew it would have some effect. I didn’t expect it to be quite so dramatic! Although I don’t know why it should surprise me. Jesus Christ of Nazareth is not a popular subject in today’s market. Folks will visit your blog and applaud Photo Albums, Motivational Moments, silly jokes, senseless drivel; almost anything except “preaching”. Most of my readership, up until a month or so ago was based on motivational moments, silly jokes and senseless drivel. But when I started “preaching” – hooboy! That thinned ’em out quick. Still, I have to do what God has called me to do, and if even one is blessed because of it – well, that’s all up to Him anyway.
Speaking of ‘up to Him anyway’… Some of you already know that you can call and ask D and I to pray with you at any time, about anything and we will take it to God in agreement with you. By adding comments here anyone will be able to send us prayer requests. And, just to add to the impact, our regular readers will also be able to see your requests and join in agreement with us.
“And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea’, and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received and it will be yours.” Mark 11:23
So… that pretty much wraps up what I wanted to tell you today. TTYL. Be blessed.
