Took a walk along the creek, with the camera, this morning before the sun rose so far overhead that colors and shadows were lost.
I was looking for beauty in the decaying world that surrounds Contentment Cottage—looking for God’s hand in the natural flora and fauna that remains, even in the midst of disrepair and lack of maintenance in our neighborhood.
This verse came to mind:
He has made everything beautiful in its time. __Ecclesiastics 3:11
This afternoon I went to the studio and wrote down some of what I was thinking. Written under the cute “Suzy’s Zoo are two encouraging quotes.
We need to find God, and He cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature—trees, flowers, grass—grows in silence…see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence…we need silence to be able to touch souls.” _Mother Teresa
Listen for yourself and in that quietude you might hear the voice of God.” _Maya Angelou
Look…and you will find…in silence…a still small voice. Thought I’d share some of the beauty I found as I walked and listened.
There are more photos. In our yard and garden spring has sprung, too. But, since the weatherman is telling us we’re in for a rainy week, with temps dropping back into the 60’s I’ll save those for tomorrow’s post.
